Nagpur: In a tragic incident at Drugdhamna village under Wadi Police Station, a 23-year-old youth drowned in a quarry pond while trying to catch ducks.

The deceased has been identified as Yash Sukhdev Mohol (23), a resident near Shivshakti Kirana Stores, Drugdhamna, Wadi. On October 2 around 4 pm, Yash went to wash his two-wheeler at the quarry pond. Spotting ducks in the water, he ventured deeper despite not knowing how to swim. He soon drowned in the deep waters.

With the help of the Fire Brigade, his body was fished out and sent to Mayo Hospital for postmortem.

Wadi Police have registered a case of accidental death (AD) based on the statement of complainant Vishal Dilip Mohol (31).
