Nagpur: Ambazari Police busted illegal hookah parlour running at Hush Haze cafe in Gululpeth area and booked its owner.
As part of the ongoing drive against narcotics suppliers, illegal tobacco products, and addiction-related offences, Ambazari Police conducted a raid based on credible information between 11.55 pm on April 18 and 12.50 am on April 19, 2026.
The police team raided Hush Haze (H.H.) Café, located on Gokulpeth Main Road in Laxmikrupa Building, within the jurisdiction of Ambazari Police Station. During the raid, police found the café manager Chandan Karansingh Jaygadi (23), resident of Kapil Nagar Chowk, Nagpur, along with staff members:
- Arhaan Ahmed Ashfaq Ahmed (19), resident of Jafar Nagar, working as a waiter
- Takshak Yuvraj Bhavre (20), resident of Kapil Nagar, Nagpur
Police said the accused, in collusion with each other, were allegedly supplying prohibited tobacco-based hookah products to four customers present at the spot.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the establishment was being operated illegally for financial gain in association with the café owner Tejas Sanjay Sardar (28), resident of Patankar Chowk, Nagpur, who has also been named as a wanted accused in the case.
Police seized hookah parlour equipment including hookah pots, flavoured tobacco products, and other related materials collectively valued at Rs 9,540.
A case has been registered at Ambazari Police Station under Section 274 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with provisions of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003, Maharashtra Amendment Act 2018, and relevant sections of the Maharashtra Police Act.
Further investigation is underway.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Nityanand Jha (Zone 2) and Assistant Commissioner of Police Vilas Shende (Sitabuldi Division). The raid was executed by Senior Police Inspector Vinod Godbole, PSI Nandkishor Padakonde, Nanabhau Kakad, Head Constable Gayaprasad Yadav, and team member Amit.
