Nagpur: Ahead of the Shahi Sandal procession to be held on Sunday as part of the Tajuddin Baba Urs, the Nagpur City Police conducted a comprehensive security briefing and route march in Zone 3 to ensure foolproof law and order arrangements.

The preparedness exercise was carried out on the directions of the Commissioner of Police, Nagpur City, and the Joint Commissioner of Police, Nagpur City.

The briefing and route march were led by Additional Commissioner of Police (North Region) Vinita Sahu, who reviewed the security arrangements with officers and personnel deployed for the event. She was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Rahul Madane, the Assistant Commissioners of Police of Lakadganj and Kotwali divisions, along with Senior Police Inspectors and other officers from Zone 3.

As part of the exercise, a route march was conducted through the jurisdictions of Tehsil, Kotwali, and Ganeshpeth Police Stations to assess ground-level preparedness and strengthen public confidence ahead of the religious procession.

During the briefing, senior officers outlined detailed plans for police deployment, crowd management, traffic regulation, emergency response, and overall law and order, with special emphasis on ensuring the peaceful and smooth conduct of the Shahi Sandal procession.

The Nagpur City Police appealed to citizens to cooperate with security personnel, follow traffic diversions and police instructions, and contribute to the peaceful observance of the Tajuddin Baba Urs celebrations.

Police officials said all necessary arrangements have been put in place to facilitate the procession while ensuring public safety and maintaining peace across the city.
