Nagpur: A 27-year-old man was stabbed to death by his friends following a drunken brawl near Sahu Garden in Somwari Quarters during the early hours of Monday, February 17.
The deceased has been identified as Kartik Chaubey (27).
According to police sources, Kartik and his friends had purchased beer late Sunday night and were drinking near Sahu Garden when an argument broke out. During the altercation, Kartik allegedly threw a beer bottle at one of the accused, enraging them. In retaliation, the accused reportedly stabbed him, leading to his death on the spot.
Sakardhara police have registered a case of murder and identified the accused. Preliminary investigations revealed that both the deceased and the accused had criminal records.
This incident highlights the growing issue of public drinking in Nagpur, raising concerns over law enforcement and public safety in the city.
