Nagpur: The Anti-Narcotics Squad of the Nagpur Crime Branch has arrested two men and seized 54.998 kg of ganja worth ₹13.74 lakh during a raid conducted under the jurisdiction of Shantinagar Police Station in Nagpur.
The action was carried out on July 13, 2026, between 2:30 am and 5:10 am, based on intelligence received by the Anti-Narcotics Squad.
The arrested accused have been identified as:
- Sheikh Javed Sheikh Munna (39)
- Mohammad Haroon Rashid Pinjari (39)
Both are residents of Dalal Chowk, Beech Ka Puliya, Telipura, Lalganj, under Shantinagar Police Station limits, Nagpur.
During the raid at a tin shed located in front of the house of Sheikh Wasim Sheikh Mehmood at Dalal Chowk, police searched the accused in the presence of independent witnesses and recovered a large quantity of cannabis.
Items Seized
Police seized property worth ₹16,51,520, including:
- 54.998 kg of ganja valued at ₹13,74,950
- Three mobile phones worth ₹26,000
- One Suzuki Burgman scooter worth ₹1,00,000
- Cash of ₹1,35,570 recovered during the personal search of the accused
- Two electronic weighing machines worth ₹10,000
A case has been registered at Shantinagar Police Station under Sections 8(c), 20(b)(ii)(C), and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The complaint in the case was lodged by Police Head Constable Dnyaneshwar Bhoge of the Anti-Narcotics Squad, Crime Branch, Nagpur City.
Further investigation is underway.
