Nagpur: Crime Branch Rescues Woman, Arrests Accused in Flesh Trade Case Under ‘Operation Shakti’

Nagpur: In a major crackdown under Operation Shakti, aimed at dismantling human trafficking and sex rackets in the city, the Social Security Department of Nagpur Crime Branch raided a residence in Rajgruh Nagar, Shegavkar Layout near Lokmanya Metro Station, on September 2, 2025.


The raid, conducted between 5:55 pm and 9:25 pm, led to the arrest of Mamta Vikas Pandey (32), who was allegedly running a prostitution racket from her home for financial gain. Police rescued one victim woman from the premises.


From the accused, police seized ₹2,000 in cash, a mobile phone, and other material worth ₹12,010. A case has been registered at MIDC Police Station under Sections 143 (2)(3) BNS along with Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA).


The action was carried out under the guidance of CP Ravindrakumar Singal, JCP Navinchandra Reddy, Addl CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijit Patil, by PI Lalita Todase and her team.
