Nagpur: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday handed over the newly developed urban amenities in Chinchbhuwan’s resettlement area (Sectors 34, 35 and 36) to Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC). On the same occasion, MIHAN India Limited presented a cheque of ₹50 lakh towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
The brief ceremony was held at Ramgiri, the official residence of the Chief Minister. During the event, Fadnavis formally transferred the urban facilities to NMC Commissioner Dr Abhijit Chaudhari. District Collector Dr Vipin Itankar provided a detailed briefing on the Chinchbhuwan resettlement project before the handover.
Alongside the CM Relief Fund contribution, MIHAN India Limited also extended financial assistance under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. A cheque of ₹45.43 lakh was presented to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), ₹30 lakh to Indira Gandhi Government Medical College (IGGMC), ₹25 lakh to Nagpur Municipal Corporation, and ₹24.93 lakh to Women’s Education Society (LAD College).
Senior officials present at the ceremony included Additional Municipal Commissioner Vasumana Pant, GMCH Dean Dr Raj Gajbhiye, IGGMC Dean Dr Ravi Chavan, and MIHAN India Ltd’s Senior Airport Director M. A. Abid Ruhi.
About Chinchbhuwan Urban Amenities Project
The Chinchbhuwan resettlement project has been developed for displaced families from Jayatala, Bhamti, Chinchbhuwan, and Shivan villages, located east of National Highway 44. Spread across 58.21 hectares, the layout comprises 1,506 plots. Of the 1,161 plots allotted to project-affected families from Shivan village, 1,075 beneficiaries have already taken possession. Around 400–415 families have shifted to the new township, while construction of nearly 600 houses is in progress.
The development of civic amenities in this area has been completed at a cost of ₹65.80 crore. These facilities have now been officially transferred to Nagpur Municipal Corporation for further management.
