Nagpur: In a successful operation, MIDC police apprehended a man in possession of MD powder worth ₹64,000 near Vasudev Nagar Metro Station in Nagpur. 

The accused, identified as Ajinkya Rajesh Telgote (23), a resident of Jayatala Vasti, MIDC, was caught red-handed during a police trap on March 4, 2025, at around 10:15 PM.

During the search, officers found 16 grams of MD powder in a zip-lock packet hidden in the storage compartment of his black moped (MH-49-AA-5816). Along with the drugs, the police also seized a mobile phone, and the moped, bringing the total confiscated items to ₹1,15,000.

Telgote was reportedly carrying the MD powder for illegal sale and personal financial gain. He has been charged under Sections 8(c) and 22(b) of the NDPS Act, and a case has been registered at MIDC Police Station.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint CP Nisar Tamboli, Additional CP Shivajirao Rathod, DCP Lohit Matani, and ACP Satishkumar Gurav, led by MIDC Police Inspector Mahesh Chavan and his team. Further investigation is underway.
