Mankapur Police Recover 57 Lost Mobile Phones Worth Rs 7.6 Lakh in Nagpur

Nagpur: In a significant success for city police, Mankapur Police recovered 57 lost and missing mobile phones collectively worth around Rs 7.60 lakh and returned them to their rightful owners in Nagpur. The recovery operation was conducted using technical investigation and surveillance methods over the past six months.


The action was carried out under the directions of Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal as part of ongoing efforts to trace lost valuables and improve citizen services.


According to police officials, the recovered devices included several popular smartphone brands such as 14 Vivo phones, 12 Samsung mobiles, 7 Redmi handsets, 7 Oppo phones, 6 Poco devices, 4 Motorola mobiles, 4 OnePlus phones, 2 Tecno smartphones, and 1 iPhone.


A special handover programme was organised at Mankapur Police Station on Thursday, May 28, 2026, where the recovered phones were returned to their original owners. Citizens expressed happiness and relief after receiving their mobile phones, many of which had been missing for months.


The recovery drive was successfully executed under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Harish Kalsekar with the efforts of police personnel Suresh Dhangare, Anil Rathod, and Vikramsingh Thakur.


Police officials appealed to citizens to immediately report lost or stolen mobile phones to help authorities trace devices quickly through technical monitoring systems.
