Man Rents Zoom Car, Dupes Owner by Not Returning It in Sonegaon, Nagpur

Nagpur: Sonegaon Police have arrested two persons and booked two others for allegedly renting a Zoom Car and failing to return it, instead using it for personal gain.


Based on a complaint lodged by Balu Nanaji Ramteke (52), a resident of Wardha Road, the Sonegaon Police have registered a case against the accused Amol Vikram Gajbhiye (24): Resident of Pipri, Ward No. 2, Kanhan, Pirkhan Wahid Khan (34): Resident of Seoni, Madhya Pradesh, Sheikh Ashpak Sheikh Iman (29): Resident of Pili Nadi and Mobin Ahmad alias Chaba (45): Resident of Tipu Sultan Square, Yashodhara Nagar.


According to police sources, Ramteke operates a Zoom Car rental business. On October 4, 2024, Gajbhiye rented a car from Ramteke. However, instead of returning it as agreed, he handed the vehicle over to Ashpak, Pirkhan, and Mobin for their personal use. When contacted, all of them refused to return the car.


Subsequently, Ramteke filed a complaint at the Sonegaon police station. After an investigation, the police registered a case under Sections 316(2) and 3(5) of the BNS Act. They arrested Ashpak and Pirkhan, while also recovering the rented vehicle.
