Nagpur: A 42-year-old man was apprehended by Beltarodi Police on charges of threatening two individuals with a deadly weapon following a heated altercation near Mama Bar.
The accused, identified as Gaurav Vijay Shendurnikar, a resident of D-Mart area in Beltarodi, allegedly confronted complainant Shrikant Ranganath Bodkhe (37) and his friend Gajanan Kadu around 10:30 pm on May 28. After initially engaging in casual conversation, the accused invited them for drinks at the bar.
According to the complaint, Kadu had pending financial transactions with Shendurnikar over a land deal, which reportedly led to the altercation. During the dispute, the accused hurled vulgar abuses and then pulled out an iron knife from his car, threatening to kill both individuals. The victims managed to escape and subsequently filed a complaint at Beltarodi Police Station.
Following the complaint, police booked Shendurnikar under BNS Sections 296, 351(3), along with Sections 4/25 of the Arms Act and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. The accused was traced, apprehended, and the weapon and vehicle used in the crime were seized.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of DCP Rashmita Rao, ACP Narendra Hivare, and led by PI Mukund Kawade with assistance from PSI Narendra Giri, constables Pramod Bhivgade, Satish Hajare, Shakir Sheikh, and Sachin Devhare.
