Major Fire Breaks Out at Mehadia Enterprises Paper Factory in Uppalwadi, Nagpur

Nagpur: A major fire broke out at Mehadia Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., a paper manufacturing unit located in Uppalwadi near the industrial area on Kamptee Road, in the early hours of Monday. The incident was reported at around 1.02 am on February 10, 2026, triggering an immediate response from the Fire and Emergency Services.


According to officials, the factory, owned by Madhusudan Uday Prakash Mishadia, is situated at Uppalwadi, Plot No. 25/2 (Part B), near the Uppalwadi Industrial Area and behind the MSEB sub-station. The blaze engulfed a large stock of paper rolls, machinery, LPG cylinders and other materials stored on the ground floor of the unit. The structure was partly constructed with brick walls and partly covered with a GI sheet roof.


The fire alert was received from Tiwari, who informed authorities about flames at the paper factory near the Uppalwadi Power House on Kamptee Road.


Firefighting operations were launched promptly, with six fire tenders rushed to the spot from Sugat Nagar, Kalamna, Wathoda, Civil Lines and Trimurti Nagar fire stations.


A total of 25 fire personnel, including four officers, were pressed into service to control the blaze.


After several hours of intensive firefighting, the fire was successfully brought under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby industrial units. No casualties were reported in the incident. The exact cause of the fire and the extent of financial loss are yet to be ascertained, and further investigation is underway.
