Khaparkheda Police Seize ₹15.30 Lakh Vehicle, Sand in Illegal Transportation Case

Nagpur: Khaparkheda Police seized an Ashok Leyland ten-wheeler tipper and five brass of sand, collectively valued at ₹15.30 lakh, for allegedly transporting sand illegally without a valid permit on a road leading towards Bhanegaon.


According to police, the action was taken on October 4 when Police Constable Amit Khobragade and his team were conducting night patrolling and checking for illegal activities in the Khaparkheda police station area.


During the patrol, police allegedly found the Ashok Leyland tipper bearing registration number MH-34-AV-1021 transporting sand without the required permission. The vehicle, valued at around ₹15 lakh, was allegedly carrying five brass of sand worth approximately ₹30,000.


Police arrested Dilip Kashinath Nipane, a resident of Bina Sangam in Kamptee, in connection with the case. The vehicle owner, identified as Suresh Ganesh Bonde, is also named in the case.


A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code and the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act.


Police officials said further investigation is underway.
