Investment Scam: Manish Nagar Couple Accused of Defrauding Investor of ₹36.2 Lakh, Threatening Him in Nagpur

Nagpur: A complaint has been filed at Mankapur Police Station against a couple for allegedly defrauding a man of ₹36.2 lakh and threatening him when he demanded the return of his money. The incident occurred between May 12 and May 20, 2022, involving the complainant, Vinodsingh Virendrasingh Thakur (35), a resident of Anant Nagar, Katol Road, Nagpur.


The accused, identified as Tushar Sharad Bondre and Nalini Tushar Bondre, residents of Manish Nagar, Nagpur, convinced the complainant to invest in their company, Liberal System Pvt. Ltd., which deals in LED manufacturing, installation, and servicing. The accused promised a 9% return on the investment, gaining the trust of the complainant and his associates.


Following the assurance, the complainant and his partners invested ₹70 lakh through bank transactions. However, the accused returned only ₹33.9 lakh, failing to repay the remaining ₹36.2 lakh. When the complainant and his associates demanded the remaining amount, the accused allegedly refused and threatened them with physical harm.


Based on the complaint lodged by Vinodsingh Thakur on September 27, 2024, Mankapur Police have registered a case under sections 420 (cheating), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
