Nagpur/Mumbai: The Income Tax (I-T) Department on Wednesday continued its large-scale search operations at the offices, warehouses, and residences linked to prominent Nagpur-based businessman Nitin Khara, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Confidence Petroleum India Ltd. The raids, which began earlier this week, are being conducted simultaneously in Nagpur and Mumbai as part of an extensive investigation.

According to sources, the I-T Department has also called in additional personnel from Mumbai to assist with the ongoing searches. While no official numbers have been disclosed, earlier reports indicated that around 75 I-T officials and 45 police personnel were involved in the operation.

The search teams have covered multiple locations, including Khara’s residence in Ramdaspeth, the company’s head office, and properties linked to other directors and chartered accountants located at Godrej Anandam in Ganeshpeth. The residence of Elesh Khara, Director and brother of Nitin Khara, was also raided.

Sources said that the officials have seized documents, cash, and jewellery during the action. The operation is being carried out by the Directorate of Investigation, Income Tax Department, Mumbai, and is likely to continue on Thursday.
