Nagpur: Hudkeshwar Police arrested a 29-year-old man for illegally carrying a sharp weapon during night patrolling.

On September 5, 2025, around 3.10 am, a police patrol team noticed a suspicious man riding a motorcycle near a nullah bridge opposite Pipla Gram Panchayat. The suspect was stopped and identified as Vishal Sunil Chunnarwar (29), a resident of Shubhangi Nagar, Hudkeshwar.

During a search conducted in the presence of panch witnesses, police recovered a sharp iron knife worth ₹500 concealed in the dicky of his Boxer motorcycle (MH 14 AF 9215). The motorcycle and weapon, together valued at ₹30,500, were seized.

Police stated that the accused was carrying the knife with the intention of committing a cognizable offence and had violated prohibitory orders. A case has been registered against him at Hudkeshwar Police Station under Sections 4, 25 of the Arms Act and Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
