Housebreaking Gang Busted by Crime Branch and Pardi Police from Seoni, MP; 7 Cases Solved

Nagpur: In a major breakthrough, the Crime Branch Anti-Housebreaking Squad and Pardi Police have arrested two notorious housebreakers involved in at least seven theft cases across Nagpur city from Seoni, Madhya Pradesh (MP).


The incident began between 7 PM on June 21 and 7:15 AM on June 22, 2025, when complainant Anup Bhagwan Waghmare, 34, residing at Plot No. 13, Ganesh Housing Society, Nageshwar Nagar-B, Pardi, returned from Pulgaon to find his house burgled. Unidentified thieves had broken the lock of the main door and decamped with ₹3,29,500 worth of property, including ₹1,000 in cash and gold ornaments.


Following the complaint, Pardi Police registered an FIR under Sections 305(A), 331(3), and 331(4) of the BNS.


Simultaneously, the Crime Branch’s Anti-Housebreaking Squad and Pardi Police launched a parallel technical investigation. Based on credible leads, the accused Sandeep Khemchand Tembhare (26)from Chidiya Palari, Om Sai Nagar, Dunda Seoni, MP, was detained. During interrogation, he confessed to the burglary and named his accomplice Mahendra alias Golu Ramkumar Kushwaha (35) of Vijawada, Seoni.


Upon further questioning, the duo admitted to committing seven housebreakings – three within Pardi Police limits and four in the jurisdiction of Mankapur Police Station.


Police seized stolen goods including iron rods, screwdrivers, ₹74,000 in cash, and other burglary tools, collectively worth ₹11.12 lakh. The accused have been handed over to Pardi Police for further legal action.


The operation was conducted under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint CP Naveenchandra Reddy, Additional CP (Crime) Vasant Pardeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijit Patil. The team included PI Nanda Mangate, PSI Nitin Chulpar, and other staff.
