Hit-and-Run Case Registered After Car Rams Into Two-Wheeler at Bhanegaon Flyover

Nagpur: Khaparkheda police have registered a case against an unidentified car driver for causing a serious road accident and fleeing the scene, leaving a couple injured. The incident occurred around 8.50 pm on January 16 at the Bhanegaon flyover under the limits of Khaparkheda police station.


As per police records, the complainant Mohammad Sadiq Aziz Khan (51) and his wife Shabana Begum (42), residents of Naka No. 2, Uppalwadi, Nagpur, were returning home on their motorcycle (registration number MP-06 MV-1705) from Khaparkheda. At the flyover, a white car approaching from the opposite direction allegedly attempted to overtake another vehicle at high speed and in a rash and negligent manner, crashing into their two-wheeler before speeding away.


Due to the impact, both the riders fell on the road and sustained injuries. They were immediately shifted to Pawar Hospital in Khaparkheda, where they are undergoing treatment.


Following the complaint, Senior Police Inspector Rahul Chavan of Khaparkheda police station registered a case against the absconding car driver under Sections 281, 125(a) and 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with Sections 184 and 134 of the Motor Vehicles Act.


Further investigation is underway to identify the vehicle and apprehend the accused.
