Nagpur: The Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court on Friday ordered the transfer of the Ram Jhula accident case, involving Ritika Malu, to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The decision was made on August 30, following concerns raised by the victims' families about the investigation conducted by the Tehsil Police.

The accident occurred in late February when Ritika alias Rittu Malu, allegedly driving under the influence, crashed her Mercedes-Benz (MH-49-AS-6111) into a motorcycle on Ram Jhula. The collision claimed the lives of Mohammad Hussain Ghulam Mustafa (34) and Mohammed Aatif Ziya (32), who were riding the bike. Malu was returning to Wardhaman Nagar from the CP Club with her friend, Madhuri Sarda, at the time of the incident.

Malu was granted bail the day after the accident, sparking dissatisfaction among the victims' families. Their call for a more rigorous investigation has now led the High Court to assign the case to the CID, which will conduct a detailed inquiry into the events surrounding the fatal crash.
