Externed Accused Arrested by Rana Pratap Nagar Police in Nagpur

Nagpur: In a significant operation, the Rana Pratap Nagar Police arrested an externed accused late on April 27 for violating externment orders within city limits.


According to police sources, the patrolling team received credible information that a known externed individual, Roshan Gyaneshwar Kodape (27), was present near Pragyashil Buddha Vihar. Acting swiftly, the police reached the spot and identified the suspect based on the description.


On noticing the police, the accused attempted to flee but was chased and apprehended. During interrogation in the presence of witnesses, he revealed his residence near Shiv Mandir, Subhash Nagar, Nagpur.


Police records confirmed that Kodape had been externed from Nagpur city and rural areas for two years under an order issued on November 12, 2024, by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1). Despite the ban, he was found within jurisdiction without permission, allegedly with intent to commit a crime.


A case has been registered under relevant provisions, and further investigation is underway. The operation was carried out under the guidance of senior police officials.
