Nagpur: PSI Deepak Chaurpagar, attached to Dhantoli Police Station, met a tragic end after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near the Mankapur flyover in the late hours of Thursday night.

According to police sources, Deepak was on his way home after finishing his duty at the police station. At around 11.30 pm, an unidentified vehicle reportedly struck his two-wheeler from behind, causing Deepak to lose control of his bike and fall on the spot. He sustained severe injuries.

Eyewitnesses reported that no vehicle stopped to rush him to the hospital, resulting in the critical golden hour being lost. When locals eventually managed to take him to Max Health Hospital, he was declared dead on arrival.

A case has been registered at Sadar Police Station in this connection, and further investigation is ongoing.
