Nagpur: The Crime Branch Unit 5 of Nagpur Police has successfully solved two vehicle theft cases through swift technical investigation and coordinated action.
The breakthrough came after a moped was reported stolen from the Wadi police station limits during the night of January 16–17, 2026. The complainant, Sachin Harichandra Madavi (46), a resident of Baba Trimurti Society, Wadi, said he had parked his Honda Dio (MH 40 AJ 8156), worth ₹25,000, outside his home after locking it securely.
Unknown thieves stole the vehicle, following which Wadi Police registered a case under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
During parallel investigation, Crime Branch Unit 5 officials carried out technical surveillance and traced two juveniles in conflict with the law. Upon interrogation, both admitted to committing the theft. Further questioning revealed that they had also stolen another Honda Activa 6G (MH 49 CM 8255) worth ₹70,000 from the Hudkeshwar police station limits.
Police have recovered two stolen two-wheelers worth approximately ₹95,000 from their possession. The juveniles, along with the seized vehicles, have been handed over to Wadi Police for further legal action. Investigation is ongoing.
This operation was carried out under the guidance of Police Commissioner Ravindrakumar Singhal, Joint CP Navinchandra Reddy, Additional CP (Crime) Vasant Paradeshi, DCP (Detection) Rahul Makanikar, and ACP (Crime Branch) Abhijeet Patil. The action team was led by PI Vinayak Golhe along with officers and staff of Unit 5.
