Nagpur/Mumbai: To manage the heavy holiday rush during Christmas, New Year and winter vacations, Central Railway has announced 76 Winter Special train services on major routes connecting Mumbai, Nagpur, Goa, Pune, Mangaluru, Amravati, Sanganer and Thiruvananthapuram. These services will operate from December 18, 2025 to January 10, 2026, providing additional capacity for passengers travelling during the peak festive season.


According to Central Railway, the specials include daily trains to Goa, weekly services to Kerala and Mangaluru, and holiday specials between Mumbai–Nagpur and Pune–Nagpur–Amravati–Sanganer. The services will cover popular destinations and important junctions across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Kerala.


36 Daily Services Between CSMT and Karmali


Train No. 01151 will depart from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) at 00:20 hrs daily from December 19 to January 5 and reach Karmali at 13:30 hrs.

The return train 01152 will leave Karmali at 14:15 hrs and arrive at CSMT at 03:45 hrs next day.


Halts include: Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Kudal and Thivim.


Coach composition: 2 AC-2 Tier, 8 AC-3 Tier, 6 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class and 2 Guard’s Brake Vans.



8 Weekly Specials Between LTT and Thiruvananthapuram


Train No. 01171 will depart Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) every Thursday at 16:00 hrs from December 18 to January 8, arriving in Thiruvananthapuram North at 23:30 hrs next day.

The return 01172 will run every Saturday at 16:20 hrs from December 20 to January 10, reaching LTT at 01:00 hrs on the third day.


The train will halt at major stations including Ratnagiri, Madgaon, Karwar, Udupi, Mangaluru, Kozhikode, Thrissur, Ernakulam and Kollam, among others.


8 Weekly Specials Between LTT and Mangaluru Junction


Train No. 01185 will leave LTT every Tuesday at 16:00 hrs from December 16 to January 6, reaching Mangaluru Junction at 10:05 hrs next day.

The return 01186 will run every Wednesday at 13:00 hrs from December 17 to January 7, reaching LTT at 06:50 hrs the next morning.


Composition: AC First Class, AC-2 Tier, AC-3 Tier coaches, Pantry Car and General compartments.


6 Weekly Specials on CSMT–Nagpur Route


Train No. 01005 will depart CSMT every Saturday at 00:30 hrs from December 20 to January 3, reaching Nagpur at 15:30 hrs.

Train No. 01006 will depart from Nagpur at 18:10 hrs every Saturday and arrive in Mumbai at 08:25 hrs next day.


Halts include: Thane, Kalyan, Nashik Road, Manmad, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Akola, Badnera and Wardha.


6 Weekly Specials Between Pune and Nagpur


Train No. 01401 will leave Pune at 20:30 hrs every Friday from December 19 to January 2 and reach Nagpur at 14:05 hrs on Saturday.

The return 01402 will depart Nagpur at 16:10 hrs every Saturday, reaching Pune at 11:45 hrs on Sunday.


The train will halt at Daund, Ahilyanagar, Belapur, Manmad, Chalisgaon, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Akola and Wardha.


6 Weekly Superfast Specials Between Pune and Sanganer


Train No. 01405 will run every Friday from December 19 to January 2, departing Pune at 09:45 hrs and reaching Sanganer at 06:45 hrs next day.

The return 01406 will leave Sanganer every Saturday at 11:35 hrs, arriving in Pune at 09:30 hrs next day.


The service will cover important stops such as Lonavala, Kalyan, Surat, Vadodara, Kota and Sawai Madhopur.


6 Weekly Specials on Pune–Amravati Route


Train No. 01403 will leave Pune every Saturday at 19:55 hrs from December 20 to January 3 and reach Amravati at 09:25 hrs next day.

Train No. 01404 will depart Amravati every Sunday at 12:00 hrs, reaching Pune at 00:15 hrs next day.


Passenger Reservations and Ticketing


Reservations for Train Nos. 01403 and 01404 will open on December 10, 2025.

Bookings for Train Nos. 01151, 01171, 01185, 01005, 01006, 01401, 01402 and 01405 are already available at all computerised reservation centres and on the IRCTC website.


Tickets for Unreserved Coaches can be booked through the UTS App at normal charges applicable for Superfast Mail/Express trains.
