Nagpur: A major housebreaking was reported in Nandanvan on Thursday after unidentified burglars broke into a locked house in the MIG Quarters of Housing Board Colony, Hiwri Layout, and decamped with valuables worth ₹3,86,356.
Police said the complainant Avinash Shankarrao Bavne (45) had locked the house and left with his wife for work, while his father had gone to his textile mill job. Between 11 am and 3 pm on November 14, an unknown thief broke the main door lock and latch, entered the house, and stole ₹25,000 cash, gold ornaments, and silver coins from the bedroom cupboard.
Nandanvan Police registered a case under Sections 305(a) and 331(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against an unidentified accused based on the complaint. PSI Waghmare is investigating the case, and efforts are underway to identify and track down the culprit.
