Burglars Break Into Locked House in Ajni As Family Attends Haldi, Flee With Gold and Silver

Nagpur: Burglars targeted a locked residence in Ajni area and escaped with gold and silver ornaments collectively valued at Rs 1.80 lakh, police said.


The theft took place between 8.15 pm on April 24 and 2.30 am on April 26 at a house located at Plot No. 51, Lane No. 10, New Kailas Nagar.


Complainant Yogendra Suresh Manekar, 35, told police that he had locked his house and gone with family members to attend a relative’s haldi ceremony in Narsala.


During his absence, unidentified thieves allegedly broke the main door lock and latch, entered the house, and stole various gold and silver ornaments kept in a wooden cupboard inside the bedroom.


Ajni Police Station has registered a case against unknown accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police are scanning leads and searching for the culprits.
