Nagpur: Beltarodi Police arrested a 28-year-old man for unlawfully carrying a sharp weapon and creating panic in a public area near Shankarpur on December 8. The arrest was made during routine patrolling in the jurisdiction.
According to police officials, the team noticed a man waving an iron knife and creating disturbance in front of Pardhi Mutton Shop on the road leading to Shiv Elite. The accused was immediately surrounded, overpowered, and detained. The weapon — an iron knife worth approximately ₹200 — was seized from his possession.
The accused was identified as Vinod Manilal Jadhav (28), a resident of Shramik Nagar slum in Parsodi, near Hanuman Temple. Police believe he was carrying the knife with the intention of committing a cognizable offence and was found violating prohibitory orders in the area.
Based on the evidence, Beltarodi Police registered a case under Sections 4 and 25 of the Arms Act, read with Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is in progress.
