Nagpur: Pratapnagar Police apprehended a 65-year-old man for allegedly molesting a 5-year-old girl at her residence in Nagpur. The incident occurred on February 4 between 4:30 pm and 5:00 pm.

According to the police, the accused, identified as Devanand Dukhari Thakre, a resident of Rani Mohgaon, Balaghat, and currently residing near Lakshminagar, Nagpur, was an acquaintance of the victim’s family. He allegedly visited the complainant’s house and engaged in inappropriate behavior with the minor. When the child screamed, the accused fled the scene.

Based on a complaint from the victim’s mother, Pratap Nagar Police registered an FIR under Sections 74 and 75 of the BNS and Sections 8 and 12 of the POCSO Act. Further investigations are on.
