Nagpur: In a shocking breach of safety, a man climbed an 18-foot-high steel wall and entered the tiger enclosure at Maharajbagh Zoo in Nagpur on Thursday morning. Fortunately, the individual was rescued safely and no harm was reported to him or the animals.

The motive behind the man’s dangerous stunt remains unclear, and authorities are still probing the reason for his actions. According to zoo officials, after scaling the primary 18-foot barrier, the man reached the inner security area. However, he was unable to breach the second layer of the enclosure, a safety cage designed to prevent direct access to the big cats.

Realising he could not go further, the man reportedly returned on his own, sparing the zoo from what could have been a tragic incident.

The entire episode, which was caught on video and has since gone viral on social media, has raised serious concerns over the security infrastructure at the zoo as well as the reckless behaviour of citizens.

Authorities at Maharajbagh Zoo have promised a detailed inquiry and are reviewing existing security protocols to prevent any future breach. Meanwhile, local police are also investigating the incident and may take legal action against the individual involved.

This is not the first time that an animal enclosure has been breached in India, but the incident has once again highlighted the urgent need for stricter safety measures at public zoos.
