Nagpur: A 21-year-old college student from Rajasthan allegedly took his own life after being mentally harassed by his girlfriend, who was studying in the same college.

The deceased, Ishwarlal Choudhary (21), hailed from Barmer, Rajasthan, and was pursuing his final year in a Nagpur college. He had been in a relationship with the accused girl for about two years. According to police, the student was under severe stress as the girl frequently quarreled with him over minor issues, pressured him to marry her, and even demanded money.

Unable to handle the pressure, Ishwarlal reportedly hanged himself in his hostel room at Kachipura on October 1. Initially registered as an accidental death, the case took a turn when police recovered a suicide note and mobile evidence pointing to harassment.

Based on this evidence, Bajaj Nagar Police have booked the girl under Section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigation is underway.
