Scooter Rider Killed, Three Other Injuried in Wadi Road Accident, Deceased Booked for Negligence

Nagpur: A 35-year-old scooter rider died, and three others were seriously injured in a road accident reported in Wadi jurisdiction on November 30. Wadi Police have now registered a case against the deceased scooter rider for negligent and dangerous driving.


According to the complaint filed by Manish Anil Banait (19), his elder brother Bhuvan Manish Banait (22), along with friend Suraj Wankhede (22), was travelling towards Bazargaon on a Shine motorcycle when a scooter coming from the opposite direction rammed into their two-wheeler in front of Range Hotel on the Nagpur–Amravati Road.


The scooter, allegedly driven at high speed and in a rash manner by Alok Bandu Madne (35) of Dhobinagar, Sadar, caused the collision, leaving all the riders injured. Bhuvan and Suraj were rushed to Re-Life Hospital for treatment, while Alok and his pillion were taken to Vivek Hospital. Doctors declared Alok Madne dead upon examination. Treatment for the other injured persons is continuing.


Initially, an accidental death report was registered on December 1. Following further inquiry and the victim’s complaint, Wadi Police registered a case under Sections 281, 106(1), and 125(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigation is underway.
