Nagpur: Pachpaoli Police arrested a 23-year-old youth for allegedly possessing MD powder meant for sale in Nagpur.

Based on specific information, Pachpaoli Police laid a trap between 5.50 pm and 7 pm on April 24near Kamal Chowk, Saturday Market, close to Chichkhede’s house.

Police intercepted a Honda Activa (MH-49-CG-3946) and detained the rider, identified as Nitesh Sanjay Hedau (23), a resident of MHADA Quarters, Kapil Nagar, Nagpur.

MD Powder, Mobile and Vehicle Seized

During a search in the presence of panch witnesses, police recovered 10.50 grams of MD powder worth Rs 73,500 packed in a zip-lock pouch.

Police also seized one mobile phone and the two-wheeler, taking the total value of seized property to Rs 1,45,500.

Supplier Identified, Hunt On

During interrogation, the accused allegedly revealed that he procured the drugs from Jagdish Gokhale (25) of Kapil Nagar for resale.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway to trace the absconding accused.
