Nagpur: As part of efforts to increase voter turnout for the 2024 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly elections, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) launched a voter awareness vehicle to emphasize the significance of voting as a civic duty. The campaign vehicle was flagged off by Election Observer Santosh Kumar Mishra and District Election Officer and Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar.
The inauguration ceremony, held at the District Collectorate, was attended by key officials including Additional District Magistrate Tushar Thombre, NMC Additional Commissioner and SVEEP Nodal Officer Ajay Charthane, Resident Deputy Collector Anup Khande, Deputy District Election Officer Pravin Mahire, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Ranjana Lade, SP Superintendent Rajkumar Meshram, Public Relations Officer Manish Soni, and Sports Officer Dr. Piyush Ambulkar.
This voter awareness vehicle, initiated under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, will tour all six Assembly constituencies within Nagpur city and district, encouraging eligible residents to exercise their right to vote.
Through this campaign, NMC aims to inspire maximum voter participation. The vehicle will travel across the city, raising awareness among voters about the importance of their ballot and ensuring that every eligible citizen is motivated to cast their vote.
