Mumbai: The official logo for the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027 was unveiled at a special ceremony held at Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar, along with several dignitaries, officially launched the emblem for the upcoming religious congregation.
The Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela is scheduled to be held in 2027 and is expected to attract millions of devotees, saints, and tourists from across India and abroad.
National-Level Logo Design Competition
The Kumbh Mela Authority had organized a nationwide logo design competition to select the official emblem for the event. More than 3,000 participants took part in the contest, showcasing creative and culturally rooted designs.
During the ceremony, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis felicitated the top three winners:
- First Prize: Sumit Kate from Pune received a cash prize of ₹3 lakh along with a memento.
- Second Prize: Mayank Nayak from Noida was awarded ₹2 lakh and a memento.
- Third Prize: Piyush Pimpalnerkar from Pandharpur received ₹1 lakh and a memento.
Jury Panel Included Leading Design Experts
The entries were evaluated by a distinguished panel of design experts including Prasoon Joshi, Ashwini Deshpande, Mandar Rane, Vrushali Kekane Deshmukh, Barish Date, Vinay Narang, Dr. Prajakta Baste, Prafull Sawant, Dr. Dinesh Vaidya, Anthony Lopez, and Dr. Kiran Shinde.
The designs were judged on the basis of creativity, innovation, brand relevance, and presentation. The jury members were also felicitated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis during the event.
Kumbh Mela Authority Commissioner Shekhar Singh delivered the introductory address and shared details about the preparations for the Kumbh Mela and the logo competition.
Ministers, Saints and Officials Attend Ceremony
Several ministers and senior officials attended the unveiling ceremony, including Kumbh Mela Minister Girish Mahajan, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse, Industries Minister Uday Samant, Public Works Minister Shivendrasinh Raje Bhosale, Chief Secretary Rajesh Agrawal, Nashik Divisional Commissioner Praveen Gedam, and Kumbh Mela Authority Commissioner Shekhar Singh.
Saints and seers from various Akharas were also present. The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Ministers welcomed the saints during the ceremony.
About the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela Logo
The official logo was selected through a nationwide design competition jointly organized by the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority, MyGov India, and the Association of Designers of India.
The competition was conducted on the MyGov platform between November 20 and December 20, 2025. A total of 3,067 entries were received, including participation from 70 international contestants.
Maharashtra recorded the highest participation, followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Youth aged between 18 and 24 years showed the most active involvement in the competition.
Symbolism of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027 Logo
The logo is deeply inspired by the sacred geography and religious traditions of Nashik and Trimbakeshwar.
Key Elements of the Logo:
- Lord Shiva’s Trident (Trishul): Represents spiritual energy and divine power.
- Trimbakeshwar Temple: Reflects the region’s spiritual heritage and architectural identity.
- Kalaram Temple Arch and Godavari River: The Godavari River has been artistically depicted in the form of a Shivling, highlighting the importance of the holy bathing tradition during the Kumbh Mela.
