Nagpur: The city is set to host the upcoming Winter Session of the Maharashtra Legislature from December 8 to 14, 2025, following a key decision taken during the meeting of the Legislature’s Business Advisory Committees of both Houses.

The meeting, held at Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai, finalised the schedule and also approved conducting Assembly and Council proceedings even on government holidays—Saturday, December 13, and Sunday, December 14. The decision was taken to ensure the timely completion of legislative business during the week-long session in Nagpur.

The Business Advisory Committee meeting was attended by prominent leaders, including Legislative Council Chairperson Prof. Ram Shinde, Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Council Deputy Chairperson Dr. Neelam Gorhe, Assembly Deputy Speaker Anna Bansode, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandrakant Patil, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Water Resources Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil, Culture Minister Ashish Shelar and several senior MLAs and MLCs. Legislature Secretary Jitendra Bhole and senior officials were also present.

During the meeting, Speaker Rahul Narwekar also announced the release of a special publication highlighting Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ speech delivered on March 26, 2025, in the Assembly. The speech was part of a historic discussion on “India’s Glorious Constitutional Amrit Mahotsavi Journey.” The compilation has been prepared by the Maharashtra Legislature’s Parliamentary Training Centre.

The book will be formally unveiled on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, by Governor Acharya Devvrat during a ceremony organised at the Legislature building.

With major political participation and key legislative activities scheduled, this year’s Winter Session in Nagpur is expected to witness a packed and significant week of governance discussions.
