Nagpur: The Nagpur City Police successfully organised the second edition of “Tiger Run – Run From Drugs, Run for Life” on Sunday morning, drawing an overwhelming response from over 15,000 participants, including 20 foreign nationals. The marathon aimed to spread awareness about the dangers of drug abuse while promoting physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
The event was conceptualised under the leadership of Nagpur Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal and was flagged off from the Police Headquarters Parade Ground in the presence of senior police officials and dignitaries. The half marathon (21 km) began at 5.30 am, followed by the 10 km, 5 km and 3 km runs at scheduled intervals.
Participants included police officers, personnel and their families, along with citizens and young runners who turned up in large numbers. Citizens along the route cheered the runners, creating an energetic atmosphere throughout the city.
Addressing the gathering after the marathon, Commissioner Singal and Joint Commissioner of Police Navinchandra Reddy highlighted the objective of the event, urging citizens—especially youth—to stay away from narcotic substances and focus on fitness for a healthy life.
