Nagpur: A 29-year-old man from Nagpur was found dead in his rented PG flat in Gurugram’s Sector 53 area, with police suspecting that an alleged overdose of a sex-enhancing drug may have caused a fatal heart attack.
The deceased, who was employed with the Quality Council of India in New Delhi, was residing in a rented accommodation in Gurugram.
Incident Came to Light After Co-Worker Raised Alarm
According to police, the incident surfaced on Thursday morning when one of the man’s co-workers alerted authorities after repeated attempts to contact him failed.
Police said the co-worker informed them that both usually travelled to the office together, but on that day he was neither answering phone calls nor opening the door of his room.
Following the information, a police team reached the spot and forced open the door of the flat, where the young man was found lying motionless on the bed.
Medicine Wrappers and Supplements Recovered
During the search of the room, police recovered wrappers of certain medicines and health supplements, which are now part of the investigation.
A senior police officer said preliminary findings suggest that the deceased had invited his fiancée to meet him. However, he allegedly died before she arrived.
Investigators suspect that he may have consumed a sex-enhancing drug and that a possible overdose could have triggered a heart attack.
Viscera Samples Sent for Forensic Examination
Police said the exact cause of death will be confirmed only after forensic examination.
Sector 53 Station House Officer Satender Rawal said viscera samples along with the recovered medicines have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for testing.
“We are investigating all possible angles. The exact cause of death will be known after the viscera report is received,” the officer said.
Body Handed Over to Family
After the postmortem examination, the body was handed over to the family for last rites.
Police said further action in the case will depend on the forensic findings.
