Nagpur: In a proactive move to enhance women’s safety and ensure immediate support for their concerns, Nagpur City Police, under the initiative of Commissioner of Police Ravindra Singal, has launched a dedicated Women Help Desk at the Dhantoli Police Station.

The newly activated help desk operates under the motto “Your Safety, Our Priority”, and aims to provide a safe, responsive, and empathetic environment for women approaching the police station with grievances or seeking guidance.

To make the help desk effective, trained female officers have been appointed who are specifically sensitized to handle women’s complaints with care and confidentiality. These officers are tasked with listening to concerns with empathy and offering the necessary legal or emotional support.

Key Objectives of the Women Help Desk:

• Immediate and sensitive handling of complaints related to women
• Legal assistance and emotional support for female complainants
• Creating awareness around crimes like sexual harassment, molestation, and domestic violence
• Boosting confidence among women to speak up and seek help

The core values of the desk revolve around “Sensitivity, Safety, and Support”, making it not just a complaint redressal point but also a safe haven for women seeking help.

According to Senior Police Inspector Anamika Mirzapure of Dhantoli Police Station, this initiative will make police stations more approachable and trustworthy for women, ultimately contributing to crime prevention and increased community confidence in law enforcement.
