Nagpur: A tragic accident claimed the life of a MSEB contract worker during maintenance work on a high-tension power line in the Sakkardara area.

According to police, Jhamsing Uike (34), a resident of Thawri in Madhya Pradesh, was repairing an AB switch jumper on an electric pole (No. NS 108/A) near Dattatray Nagar Garden around 1.30 pm on September 23. While seated on a wooden rafter tied with an iron hook, he lost balance and fell, sustaining severe injuries.

He was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Sakkardara police have registered a case of accidental death based on the statement of colleague Rajendra Baburao Bhure (50). Further investigation is on.
