Nagpur: The district administration has approved the acquisition of 2,383.36 square metres of land, removing a significant obstacle in the construction of the ramp for the double-decker flyover on Kamptee Road and the adjacent roads near LIC Square. The land acquisition process will begin on Monday, sources said.
According to sources, the document verification is scheduled for Monday, July 15, at 11 am. Administration has notified all landowners about the document verification. The process will be completed within 3-4 days. Within a week, all land-related matters will be finalized, and the acquired land will be handed over to MahaMetro authorities.
According to the district administration's report, the total compensation amounts to ₹39.35 crore (₹37.13 crore for 15 plots and an additional ₹2.22 crore as establishment charges). Although the majority of the flyover construction was completed in February last year, the ramp work remained pending due to land acquisition issues. The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) had made an error in the land acquisition proposal sent to the collector's office, causing further delays. In March, District Collector Vipin Itankar requested a revised proposal from NMC, which the civic body submitted the same month.
The Kamptee Road flyover, spanning nearly 5.6 km from LIC Square to Automotive Square, is currently the longest flyover in the city.
