Nagpur: Kalamna police have registered a case against two persons for illegally stealing and stocking sand without royalty documents on Old Kamptee Road.
On January 9, 2026, between 2.30 pm and 4.30 pm, while on patrol duty, the police acted on a tip-off and inspected an open area behind Bele Traders shop near a Reliance petrol pump on Old Kamptee Road. During the inspection, police found a large quantity of sand illegally stocked.
The accused were identified as Raju Dupan Yadav (38) and Tejbahadur Dipan Yadav (26), both residents of Plot No. 8, Om Sai Nagar, Old Kamptee Road, Kalamna. Upon demand, they failed to produce any valid documents or royalty receipts for the sand.
Police found that the accused had collectively stolen and illegally stored 40 brass of sand intended for sale. The sand stock, valued at approximately Rs 3.20 lakh, was seized.
Based on the complaint filed by Police Head Constable Arun Chandane, a case has been registered at Kalamna police station under Sections 303(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. PSI Prerana Kale is conducting further investigation.
