Nagpur: In a significant development under the 'Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Yojana', many women beneficiaries were pleasantly surprised to find Rs 3,000 deposited in their bank accounts ahead of the Shravan festivals and Raksha Bandhan.

Several women in the Kamptee area, near Nagpur, checked these deposits on their phones, confirming the transaction with their children and husbands. Savita Eshwar Gabhane and Puja Sham Jharonde, both from Yerakheda, expressed their joy and gratitude, saying this support will help them fulfill their responsibilities.

On August 15, Independence Day, messages confirming the deposits began reaching women across Nagpur district. The funds were transferred to bank accounts linked with Aadhaar numbers, prompting many beneficiaries to visit their banks to verify the deposits. Meanwhile, other women who had not yet linked their Aadhaar rushed to the banks to complete the process.

Savita Gabhane from Yerakheda plans to use the money to start a small business. She is already connected to a self-help group under the 'Umed' program and aims to strengthen her home-based spice business. Her husband works as a plumber. Puja Sham Jharonde, whose husband is a driver, also received the deposit message and plans to use the funds to pay for her parlor course and potentially start a small business of her own.

Government Committed to Supporting Women: District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar

District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar emphasized that the government is committed to supporting women through the scheme. Since August 15, women have been receiving the funds, creating a positive atmosphere. However, many women whose bank accounts are not yet linked with Aadhaar have crowded the banks to complete the process. Dr. Itankar assured that the necessary instructions have been given to the banking system, and all eligible women will receive the assistance. He encouraged women to reach out to local Anganwadi supervisors, Gram Sevaks, ward officers, or other relevant officials for any assistance with the process.
