Nagpur: A rice trader from city has fallen victim to a fraudulent scheme amounting to Rs 35 lakh, involving directors and managers from the Karnataka-based company, PWIP Foodtech Pvt. Ltd. Sitabuldi police station has officially registered a case and initiated an investigation.
Chirayu Dilip Agrawal, 27, a rice trader and exporter from TinKhede Layout, engaged in business with Dhanraj Kidiyur and Karthik M., representatives of the Bengaluru-based company. The suspects gained Agrawal’s trust and entered into a contract for the export of rice.
After formalizing the agreement, the accused received a payment of Rs 35.47 lakh from Agrawal but failed to deliver the promised goods. When Agrawal attempted to reach out for clarification, he was met with evasive responses. This led him to file a complaint with the police.
Authorities have registered a case of fraud against the accused, who are currently at large.
